Round 7 - Veteran Registration - Welcome Back!

Welcome to Round 7 of the Malabrigo Swap

This round we are focusing on "wear", and getting ready for the fall.
There will be a mandatory stalking period of 3 weeks! No packages may be sent before July 24th.
The swap runs through August 22nd. ALL package must be sent by/on August 22nd.

Minimum package value = $35 + shipping
Must include 2-3 skeins of malabrigo (no MORE or LESS) - this limit includes any knitting/crocheting you do for your partner. i.e. if a hat takes 1 skein, you can only send an additional 1-2 skeins.
This round you need to EITHER
  • Knit your partner an item from your type of wear (question threads will allow you to make small preference comments)
OR
  • Send a kit so their partner may knit themselves their type of wear, including the pattern, appropriate yarn and needles (those who are picky about needles may opt out their partner having to send needles).

You must respond to all the Q & Check In threads w/in 3 days. (unless you have permission from the swap mods- i.e. you will be on a pre-planned internet free vacation)
If not, you face possible expulsion from the swap group.

Please let us know if you are unable to complete the swap - at anytime after registration. We will work to re-assign your partners.

Email your responses to the following questions to: malabrigo.swap@gmail.com
  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. Rav ID
  4. Email
  5. Previous partners (PLEASE just list them with commas, we don't care if they were up or down stream or which round- if you just do it with commas, it makes our lives MUCH easier when we're adding it to the database)
  6. Allergies - please only extreme ones i.e. pets, food, etc- we know that no one wants their yarn to smell like smoke
  7. Pets
  8. Willing to ship to Canada? (around the same as US shipping, do NOT use priority)
  9. Willing to ship International?
  10. First choice group (head, neck, hand or foot)
  11. Second choice group (head, neck, hand or foot)
We will be trying to put everyone in their first choice.

Please comment with your favorite childhood TV character (& your rav ID) if you agree to the terms of the swap.

I loved the little guys that built the crystal structures that the Fraggles ate in Fraggle Rock.

I also loved this character from Nickelodean that no one else seems to remember - she had really fuzzy hair like a bird's nest and always had birds in her hair - but she also always pulled cool stuff out of her hair which became the topic of the show.

oops - I'm pikkle on Rav, too. Sorry. It won't let me edit it. :(

Didn't watch too much TV as a kid, so this is hard. I would probably have to say the Yellow Ranger from Power Rangers. It was nice to identify with a strong Asian female when my parents were white and the town I grew up in was all white too.

I didn't watch TV as a child so not sure this counts. In High school it was a tie between Jarod of Pretendar and the main actor on JAG.

Hmm - young kid probably all the smurfs. Sligtly older, loved Kirk Cameron as Mike Seaver and Tony Danza on Who's the Boss! (goes to hide head now)

Wow, this is a hard question! When I was much younger my favortie characters were Hello Kitty (that's how I learned fairy tales!) and David the Knome. That episode with the bunnies in the flood--man that was powerful. When I was a little older I though DJ from Full House was so cool.
