My favorite childhood toy was... this is hard! I think my cabbage patch baby doll- her name is Violet, my godmother took me to Children' Palace for the Golden Birthday (I turned 6) and I got to pick out anything I wanted. I chose her. I got another cabbage patch at my birthday party (from my grandparents I think)- but Violet was always my favorite. She now has marker on her bald head (Denise wrote on her after I wrote on Elenor's hear- denise's homemade cabbage patch- I had one of those too... but I don't remember her name)

I think my favourite toy would either be one of the two stuffed animals I still have, or books. I was always sch a bookworm!

Hannahbelle- checking in!

My favorite childhood toy was a lamb that I named ‘Lambie’. I carried her around everywhere and I still have her.

Ummmm... I'd have to ask my mom because she would remember and I don't, but she's still sleeping (must be nice!), and I'm not waking her just to ask that, so I am going to have to guess on this one that it was probably my Barbie camper, but I highly doubt it, it's just one of the few toys I remember having because we only recently got rid of them.

I still have my baby blankies and sleep with them every night (they are rolled into a small pillow and I sleep horribly without them)... can they count? ;)

My favorite childhood toys were books. Seriously. I'd much rather read than do much of anything else. Apart from draw or color.

This is irunnaked, my favorite toy was my stuffed animal. It was a little cat with a santa hat. I thought it was so cool that he was from China so I named Chinese Cat...

My favorite was a Raggedy Ann doll -- I always called her "Raggy." The poor thing had a bandaid on her head and looked just awful, but I dragged her everywhere. When we went out to eat, I'd make my dad hold her on his lap! I had Raggedy Andy, too, as they were a matched set, but he was not as well loved.

Gee this is hard, especially at this time of the morning and no coffee yet... I (still) have a stuffed Smokey the Bear that is obviously well loved but the thing I remember playing with most was my box of 64 Crayola Crayons.

Umm..... My favorite childhood toy was hurm I don't really know. I think it was mine and my sisters stretch Armstrong. We used to pull that sucker across my moms living room and drive her bonkers!

This is hard. I honestly don't remember. I don't remember playing with things. I guess I liked Legos, building forts, reading, and my bear named Chicago and my kitty named Kitty (maybe - if she had a name - I sucked at naming animals).

debjac here - my favorite toy definitely is a Shirley Temple doll my grandfather gave me when I was 5. I didn't really play with her because I didn't want to mess up her hair but I loved her. She's still in her original clothes (including the hairnet) now in a case to preserve her. My kids think she's staring all the time but that's OK.
As far as actually playing with a toy it would have to be my jump rope. Old fashioned clothes line but I would jump rope for hours!

When I was really little, I had a small wooden dog with wheels and a pull-string. I'd "walk" him around the house for hours. Mom recently found him and sent him - so he's still here!

It's hard to remember one favorite toy. I was a super tomboy - always playing outside, very active. Also a bookworm. I did love playing with Legos and had one stuffed dog called Sophisticated Sophie that I begged for for Christmas and was totally thrilled to find under the tree!

psammeadred here - my favorite childhood toy was a Teddy Ruxpin doll that talked when you put a cassette in the player in his back. My sister, however, was either jealous or terrified and broke off his jaw.

When I was younger, I had one of those horse heads on a stick, that I can remember playing with around the yard and house. One of the neighbor boys ripped his head off, very upsetting.

dramaqt99 here! I think my fave toy from childhood were my My Little Ponies. I loved playing with them and learned how to braid on their tails. :)

BARBIES! I would play with my barbies all day. Then I would pair them with my brothers G.I. Joes, that were never quite tall enough to make a good marriage :) Blancheknits83

Knittinmomma27. It would have to be a toss up between my expansive collection of My Little Ponies or my Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I would cart them everywhere :D

My favorite toy was Barbies, I loved them. They were such a great escape to life. I also loved loved loved my bike. It made me feel like such a big girl.

My favorite childhood toy were Barbies also, i used to love to wage war with them on my brother's GI Joes- Barbie always won of course because she was twice the size of GI Joe!

ninja8tofu here: My favorite childhood toy is still my favorite toy and that would be LEGOS!!!

MishaMonet said...

That's hard, because I don't know if I can pick one! First it was Strawberry Shortcake, then Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony and then Barbie. I was a total girly-girl. :)

It's questionable here, back after a brief absence from the swap!! My fave childhood toy had to have been books, probably the Babar books. I had a huge stuffed Babar that I would snuggle with at night, even though his plastic crown would sometimes poke me by accident:)

oooh...dolls and books! Dawn dolls were my fav, and books! The sweet valley high series, little house series, and classics. I still have a few of the Dawn dolls and started collecting them and now my daughter plays with them. I'm also into the blythe dolls now, but I was a little scared of them when I was little LOL! The head and eye thing :)...

I loved my stuffed animals - all of them! But one of my favorites was a fluffy, floppy, brown dog.

My favourite childhood toy was the dark brown bear with moveable arms and legs, a red velvet ribbon who had a wind up doo hocker in the back that played This Old Man.

He has been gone for almost 30 years and I still am looking for a replacement.

I really didn't have a favorite childhood toy. I think probably like someone said earlier, mine would be books. I was quite the bookworm.

Hi, Knitastic132 checking in...
My favorite toy growing up had to be Barbie. I had her penthouse, pink corvette and her back yard pool. I would spend hours each day playing with her and all her friends. A close second would be my Easy Bake Oven and then the third was my Baby Alive.

My favorite childhood toy was a stuffed animal named Gonzo. He was blue and I'm not sure what kind of animal he was supposed to be.

Hmmmm, fave childhood toy. OH! I had a pig crocheted piggie with a curly tail. I remember that now! I wonder whatever happened to that little guy?

My favorite would have to be the Peck Grande paper dolls. I had a ton of them. Especially the fairy tale ones. You could color in the outfits too!

Do over....Ainsleygrimm here:

Hmmm, I still have my stuffed wooly mammoth, but I do remember loving the dump truck I had in the sandbox and my pound puppies.

Wow, picking a favorite is hard but I'd have to say either my MyFriend Mandy Doll or my Puzzletowns (a building/role playing toy based on Richard Scarry stories). I also adored my Lincoln Logs.

And yes, I forgot my Rav name! Whoops! I'm dancingsheep.

I had a stuffed animal monkey from Japan, whom I called Monk-Monk. I used to like to tie a string around his neck , swing him over the beam in the cathedral ceiling in the den, and swing him back and forth. But really I loved him, the poor thing!

My favorite was a stuffed rabbit my mom made for me! Her name was Rosie (because she wore a dress with roses on it), she was made of muslin and her ears were about two feet long - I used to play hairdresser with her long ears.

seepattiknit here.

my favorite childhood toy was my shaggy dog. It was a stuffed animal that I loved so much and when he became frayed, my Mom took him apart and cut new pieces so she could sew me another one. I think I went through 3 or 4 before I outgrew him!

I had lots of different childhood toys. When I was younger my favorites were those Disney books with the records that came with them (you know, the small records with the big hole in the middle). Then as I got older, I loved my Willie the Waterbug as an outside toy (even though those tentacles whipped my legs when playing)...and I loved my Cabbage Patch doll Eliza. When I got older I loved my SheRa dolls, too. :)
