Winter Swap 2013
Swap Expectations:
- Minimum package value = $50 + shipping (this round the average package cost will be closer to $60-80, please plan for that)
- Must include 1 skein of Malabrigo AND 1 skein/batt/roving from an Indi Hand dyer. (we expect the yarn to be of a good quality - i.e.
- The stalking period runs through February 1st- packages may NOT be sent till after the 1st.
- All packages must be sent by March 1st.
- All domestic packages must have a tracking number.
- You must respond to all the Mandatory Question & Check In threads w/in 3 days. (unless you have permission from the swap mods- i.e. you will be on a pre-planned internet free vacation)- these threads are posted frequently, so you HAVE to be checking ravelry at least every other day.
- If you do not complete the questions, and are not responding to moderator PMs & emails, you face possible expulsion from the swap group, and having your name added to the Ravelry "naughty swapper" list.
- Moderators WILL be checking the Naughty Swapper list before approving camper's registrations.
- You will need to spend 30+ minutes on the board at least every other day answering questions - the required Mod-posted questions AND questions asked in your group threads.
- If you do not do this, you'll get "poked" by your moderator. We don't like to poke people, please make our lives easier and answer the questions in your group threads.
- The best and most loved packages in this swap are the ones that were personal. That is what the swap is all about - getting to know someone and creating a package that is better than one they would have picked out for themselves. We joke that its find & sending the thing that the person didn't even know that they needed, yet now can't imagine living without.
- We will be dividing the swappers into groups based on what weight of Malabrigo they would like to receive.
- We will try hard to get everyone in their first or second choice of yarn weights. We're asking you for a 3rd choice in the rare case that we need to put you there.
- Some groups may include multiple yarn weights (i.e. chunky & worsted) if those groups are smaller. You will still receive the weight you request, but may be purchasing yarn in another weight.
Please let us know if you are unable to complete the swap - at anytime after registration. We will work to re-assign your partner.
REGISTRATION is closed!!!
You will be magic linked in the registration thread within 24 hours of completing both steps. (Devin tries to do this every couple hours - when she's awake. But with 2 small ones and DH being on a business trip, it might not get done as frequently)
We can't wait to get started!

Someone once told me that if I were a color, I would be Black Watch Plaid. So I think I would be VAA.
Contrary to what you all think (that I'm a Charua sheep... I think of myself as more of a Volcan sheep these days. Though, if I seen the Marte colorway IRL, I might turn into a sheep of a different color. ;-)
I think I would be polar morn or ravlery red.16455
Apparently I'm also anonymous...but really I'm Peacock41 (April)
Ok...so it deleted my anonymous comment...so here's my answer!
If I were a Mal sheep, I would be...Peacock of course! (although only available on Rastita as far as I know, still counts right? ;) )
Hmmm...for today I would be matte, but my twin sheep is archangel. Don't you love my highlights?:)
If I were a Mal Sheep (today) I'd be Azul Bolita. :)
okay making sure this posts right, chicagopurl is Nerissa!
Sounds cheesy, but I would be a Light of Love sheep. So happy!
If I were a Malabrigo Sheep I'd be Fresco y Seco.
Debjac here and today definitely a Plomo sheep!
On a calm day, I'm an Azul Profundo sheep. If I'm feeling wild... Candombe or Zarzamora. :-)
I would be Lettuce
LETTUCE!! I Would be lettuce :D
Hmmmm. If I was a Malabrigo Sheep I would either be Purple Mystery, Dewberry (new sock color!!!) or Brillante.
I would be an Arco Iris Sheep.
I would be a Tuareg sheep.
If I were a Malabrigo sheep, I'd be Sunset
Yes! It works! Same thing... Gray sheep-orange sweater.
I'd be Vaaaaa.
I would be uva or polar morn depending on my moood.
It depends on my mood, the weather and a bazillion of other things. Today I spotted the first ray of sunshine since Christmas and I turned into the Malabrigo Sheep "Reflecting Pool" right away. :)
Ooooh, I would be Sauterne, Sapphire Green, Azul Bolito.... Hmmm... maybe what I'd really be is Seleccion Privada B! ;) farmgroupie
I would be American Beauty (and I crack myself up!). (nothingfancy1)
I would be a Rhodesian sheep, with mood swings in Lettuce and Ravelry Red.
I would probably be a swirled sheep with Manzanilla Olive and Frost grey fleece.
Today I feel like a teal feather sheep, with a scrappy sweater.
If I was a malsheep I think (today) I'd be borrajas!
I would have to be an arco iris sheep. It may not be a go-to yarn color for me, but as a sheep of that color, I'd really turn some heads.
And BTW, I'm SFcorgi.
I think I would be Fresco Y Seco if I was a Malabrigo Sheep
Rav ID is jettachicky
I would be the hippie-dippy Mal sheep tie-dyed Teal Feather, Verde Azul, Rojo Vivo, Azul Profundo, Taureg, Lettuce, and Verdes. ~Sally (warpedntwisted)
I'd be a Plomo sheep. With lots of different bright colored Mal accessories! (crazyl)
I think I might be a Tuareg sheep, although that might be a bit flashy for me! Maybe Pearl Ten?
I would be a very dark Prussia Blue sheep because that's how I felt when I first started serious knitting. Now that I feel better I find so many other things interesting, too, that I have hardly any time to knit. My knitting self will still always be Prussia Blue.
(In case that my Google Account won't reveal who I am, my Ravelry nick is Roussu. :)
Well, looking at the colorways, I have to say that I am Sabiduria Sheep- this shade of purply pinky plum is SO prevalent in my wardrobe right now I have to stop myself from even looking at clothing in this color! -dancingsheep
If I were a Malabrigo Sheep I would want to be a Baya Electicia. One of the prettiest pinks I have ever seen!
