Malabrigo Swap Registration

Registration, as always is 2 parts, you must complete BOTH parts to be registered. You'll be earburned on Ravelry once you complete your registration. (Also, please introduce yourself on the thread if you're a new swapper!)

We do have some rules here- so please read, and if you agree to them comment to this post with your response to the question below- please make sure to include your Rav id- so we know who you are.

The details:
  • Minimum package value = $40 + shipping
  • Must include 2-3 skeins of malabrigo (no MORE or LESS) - this limit includes any knitting/crocheting you do for your partner. i.e. if a hat takes 1 skein, you can only send an additional 1-2 skeins.
  • The mandatory stalking period runs through October 15th- packages may NOT be sent till after the 15th.
  • All packages must be sent by November 12th.
  • You must respond to all the Question & Check In threads w/in 3 days. (unless you have permission from the swap mods- i.e. you will be on a pre-planned internet free vacation)- these threads are posted frequently, so you HAVE to be checking ravelry at least every other day.
  • If you do not complete the questions, and are not responding to moderator PMs & emails, you face possible expulsion from the swap group, and having your name added to the Ravelry "naughty swapper" list.
Some other things to keep in mind before signing up
  • You will need to spend 30+ minutes on the board at least every other day answering questions - the required Mod-posted questions AND questions asked in your group threads.
  • If you do not do this, you'll get "poked" by your moderator.  We don't like to poke people, please make our lives easier and answer the questions in your group threads.
  • The best and most loved packages in this swap are the ones that were personal. That is what the swap is all about - getting to know someone and creating a package that is better than one they would have picked out for themselves. We joke that its find & sending the thing that the person didn't even know that they needed, yet now can't imagine living without.
Please let us know if you are unable to complete the swap - at anytime after registration. We will work to re-assign your partner.

Make sure you complete both steps of the registration process- you will NOT be fully registered until you do.

Please comment below, include your Rav ID and what is your most loved (by you) knit/crocheted item (that you like wearing/using - you didn't have to enjoy making it).

My most loved handknit are the newest pair of commuter mitts that I just knit with malabrigo. Finished them with the most beautiful sparkly button.

Most loved handknit... fingerless (partial finger) gloves. It's a toss-up on which pair from last year, the one holds some not so good memories for me, so I'd probably lean toward the pair that I've yet to photograph. Hmmm, I should remedy that soon.

Hmm, I think my most loved handknit is my red swallowtail shawlette. I wear it a lot and it looks great with jeans & a white shirt.

It's a tie between my Forest Canopy Shawl and my Chinook. I also love my Honey Cowl! I guess it depends on my mood!

I love wearing my seed stitch crocheted scarf that I designed and made. I'm hoping to someday make another one for myself using either Mal sock or worsted. That and I'm sure my current Simple Shawl I'm knitting will soon be a preferred choice.

My favorite handknit is a tie between my franklin monster out of mal worsted and my Vaila sweater out of Twist. I can't wait for it to be cold enough for me to wear it. But Franklin I can snuggle with any time

This is tougher than I thought - I guess it's the tamzin I made with silky merino. It's a perfect spring/fall sweater.

I don't have a most loved item because I never have time to knit for myself. Only for gifts/swaps.

I love every one of my handknits, whether made for me or by me. My current most-loved is my very first pair of handknit socks, made just for me by a wonderful spoiler. Even more special because my attempts at sock knitting have ended disastrously!

My most beloved handknit would be my Fields of Salinas shawl. It felt good to get that sucker done and it's a dream to wear.

My most loved is my Ishbel, it was my first lace project and took me a couple tries...i somehow managed to do my yarn overs wrong. Plus I lost it at the airport once and volunteered to take a later flight just so I could get off the plane and look for it!

Right now, my most loved favorite item is my Adrift sweater done in a beautiful blue mal lace. It felts a little more everytime I wear it, but it's so beautiful and comfy that I don't care!!!

Okay, right now my favorite is the mini cabled scarf. It is the first project I learned to do cableing. My skills are a little behind due to life issues, but they are getting much better - the issues, skills (oh and time for that matter):)...

My most loved handknit that I made? I actually keep so few of them...I'd have to say my Thermis, knit with Mmmmmal Worsted in Christmas Green.

This is sfcorgi. Today I am wearing my most loved handknit item, my Chinese Lace Pullover made out of Malabrigo Dos (test yarn). Yummmmmm!

Oh my. This is a hard answer! I think my most loved handknit right now is the pair of beautiful socks my friend gifted me on my birthday - they're made of Mal Sock in a gorgeous "Khotan" pattern. I dislike making socks with a passion but ADORE wearing them - so it was a gift that was very much appreciated, and they are worn all the time!
After that definitely my various mittens (I love mittens too...particularly the convertible ones I made with paws on the top, and anything cabled).
I have a variety of attachments to my cardigan I just made but that wasn't a gift, I knit it myself (but am super excited about it!) :)

My most favorite is probably a toss-up between my Summerflies shawl in silky (NOM!) and my Rose Red Beret in a delicious off-white super-soft alpaca blend.

But next week it might be my Stolitsa cardi in Twist!

Choosing a favourite anything is always hard for me. I'm looking forward to wearing my Tuscan Leaves Hat this fall, so I'll call that a fave for now!
